Perfect penalties put St Peter's through

21 January 2017

St Peter's Primary School held their nerve in two penalty shoot-outs to become the fifth of six teams through to the Kinder +Sport Kids Cup qualfiers finals day.

The Darwen-based school triumphed on spot kicks in both their final and semi final, against Langho St Leonard's and Higher Walton respectively, all under the watchful eye of Rovers striker Sam Gallagher.

The first team favourite was a very welcome guest on another successful day for the competition, meeting every team to pose for pictures and offer advice, commiserations or congratulations!

He also saw notable contributions from fellow competing schools Avondale, Chorley St Peter's and St Thomas' C of E, who all played their part in an exciting round robin competition.

St Peter's Darwen now return to the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre on Thursday 26th January to see if they've got what it takes to represent Blackburn Rovers in the national stages of the competition, which conclude with a final at Wembley.
