League football returns for the Rovers Ladies this Sunday when they travel to take on Leicester City.
And midfielder Faye McCoy is eager for them to continue with the form that has seen them remain unbeaten in all competitions up to this stage of the season.
The Ladies kicked off 2017 with a 5-0 victory over Hull City in the SSE Women's FA Cup, however McCoy knows the Foxes will provide stern opposition this weekend after they also progressed in the cup thanks to a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough.
“It was great to be back in as a group with a nice win in the FA Cup," said McCoy. "But now we’re back concentrating on the league and hopefully we’ll put in the performance we know we can as a group.
“I would imagine Leicester will be up for this game, especially at their home ground, they’ll come out fighting.
“Everyone wants to beat us and that great because we don’t want to lose. We just need to focus on us and what we have been doing because it’s obviously working.”
Rovers' form all season has ensured they've been labelled as favourites to win each game they’ve played in, which has meant plenty of expectation riding on their shoulders.
But McCoy insists that despite their impressive displays, they aren't getting too carried away as nothing is won in January.
She added: “We still have to go into each game with an underdog mentality and not get ahead of ourselves with our recent form. Every game is a must win for us and we will be well prepared for this one like any other.
“It’s great being favourites, however we have done nothing yet, it’s a long season.”
