Owen Coyle hopes to welcome back Tommie Hoban to the squad next month.

The on-loan defender has been out of action since dislocating a shoulder in training back in November, but he could be given the green light to begin his rehab from the surgeon this week.

The Rovers boss predicts that if all goes well he could return to training early February with a view to being available by the end of the month.

"Tommie Hoban came to meet us last week at the hotel in London, he met the group again and the lads were delighted to see him," said Coyle.

"He's got a meeting with the surgeon that did his operation and then hopefully he can get the all-clear to start progressing in terms of his rehab and his recovery.

"To my mind I would love to have Tommie available from the middle of February towards the end of the month because that would add a real quality player at an important time for us.

"So he will be back sooner rather than later."

Rovers are back in action this Saturday when they take on Birmingham City at Ewood Park.

Tickets are on open sale priced from £18 Adults, £12 Seniors/18-21 year-olds and from £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
