Boss Owen Coyle felt it was a professional display from Rovers as they safely booked their place in the last 16 of the Emirates FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 win over Blackpool.
First half goals did the damage at Ewood Park as Sam Gallagher headed home a 9th minute opener before Elliott Bennett blasted in a stunning 30-yard strike.
Rovers could have grabbed more goals in the second half as the Seasiders were reduced to ten men, but whilst that was the only disappointment, Coyle was pleased to see the side progress.
"I thought it was a very professional performance and one that we needed," the manager told Radio Rovers after the game.
"You only need to look through the results in the competition to see the shocks that have taken place.
"So we had to make sure that from the first whistle we were on our mettle. We had to be patient as we knew that Blackpool would bring everybody behind the ball.
"We scored a wonderful first goal, a great ball into the box from Jason Lowe and young Sam does what he does very well with a great finish.
"That then gave us a platform to go and kick on and the Elliott Bennett goal was probably worth the admission money alone.
"We probably should have added to it, if there is any criticism from today that would be it. Their keeper made a couple of saves late on, but better finishing on our part could have resulted in four or five goals going in.
"But it was important to win the game and put ourselves in the last 16 and who knows what tie we'll get now.
"We'd over 9000 fans here today, a very good crowd for this stage of the competition and I want to thank those fans for coming here today and getting behind the players and helping them through."
Rovers are back in league action this Wednesday night when Leeds United are the visitors to Ewood Park.
