Rovers manager Owen Coyle was delighted to be handed a 'glamour tie' against Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
First-half goals from Sam Gallagher and Elliott Bennett saw Coyle's charges cruise past Blackpool at Ewood Park in the fourth round on Saturday and Rovers' reward is a home tie against Jose Mourinho's men.
The Rovers boss believes it is a fixture for everyone connected with the club to get excited about, but he is under no illusions about the size of the challenge ahead.
"It's absolutely brilliant," said Coyle. "I said after Saturday's comfortable win against Blackpool that we'd love a home draw and we got that and, to be honest, it doesn't come much bigger than Manchester United.
"I think it's an exciting game for everybody to look forward to when it comes about and hopefully it will really whet the appetite of the fans, coming up against such an elite club in a glamour tie.
"It's the nature of the cup competition - we were heavy favourites at the weekend and now we're big underdogs, but the cup has shown that anything can happen."
