Jason Lowe is eager for Rovers to build on last Monday's victory over Newcastle United by progressing through to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Rovers travel to the capital boosted by their win over the Magpies, and now come up against fellow Championship side Queens Park Rangers in their opening foray into this season's competition.
The two sides have already met at Loftus Road in the league this campaign, so Lowe knows there'll be little in the way of surprises when the two sides meet later today.
"It is a break from the league but it also a chance to breed confidence," said Lowe.
"Any time you win any game, whether it is in the cup or the league it brings that confidence throughout the squad so hopefully we can do that this weekend.
"We've started the year well but we can't get carried away, the Newcastle result has gone now so it is about trying to win the next game.
"QPR are in our league, there is nothing untoward from our point of view and obviously we know what they are about and likewise they will.
"So we are expecting a tough game and hopefully we can be positive, be on the front foot and get a good result."
Tickets for this afternoon's match will be on sale at Loftus Road, cash only from the away turnstiles. Matchday prices are £15 for Adults, £10 for Seniors and 18-21 year-olds, and £5 for Under-18s.
