Saw our #NCSMatchday? Now sign up!

20 February 2017

Our #NCSMatchday against Manchester United was a huge visual success - now we're inviting potential recruits to sign up when we face Derby County next week.

If you're currently in your last year of high school or the first year of your sixth form or college studies, you're the perfect age to become part of the National Citizen Service movement. To prove why it's right for you, we're inviting anyone of that age bracket to our NCS Sign-Up Night, which will be held prior to the Championship game against the Rams and will also entitle you to free admission to the vital first team fixture if you attend.

Hosted in the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre, opposite the Darwen End stand, the event will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on an informal drop-in basis, with our Community Trust staff and graduates from our previous NCS cohorts on hand to tell you how and why the concept can change your life for the better.

On Sunday, the big names were queuing up to make sure that teenagers in and around Blackburn know the importance of considering an NCS sign-up as we joined forces with other clubs around the country for the national #NCSMatchday awareness campaign. Rover The Dog managed to convince BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey and Radio One DJ Danny Howard to pose with the #NCS photo frame, while Hope Akpan - our NCS ambassador - came down to meet those who were interviewed by Rovers TV at half-time to talk about their experiences.

They all got involved because they can see exactly what this great concept can do for your career credentials. If you commit to our Summer 2017 programme, you'll spend four weeks enjoying confidence building outdoor activities, life skills training, planning/delivery of social action projects and much, much more.

If you can commit to every weekday between Monday 24th July and Friday 18th August, come and spend the most vital weeks of your summer making new friends and gaining new skills with us at Newlands Adventure Centre, Cumbria University and Ewood Park!

Still not sure what NCS means? Visit http://www.brfctrust.co.uk/Community/education/ncs to find out what we offer, or give us a call on 01254 508256 - we're very friendly and don't bite!

We'll get you down for the NCS Sign-Up Night next week and hopefully all will come clearer… as well as letting you enjoy a big Championship game completely free of charge!
