Rovers will welcome back Sam Gallagher to the squad for the Friday night match at Burton Albion.

The on-loan striker missed last weekend's FA Cup clash with Manchester United after needing 12 stitches to a gash on his knee sustained against Sheffield Wednesday.

Having trained on Thursday, new boss Tony Mowbray has said that he expects Gallagher to be part of the squad that will travel to Burton.

Also closing in on a first team return are Tommie Hoban and Elliott Ward. Friday's game comes a little too soon for the defensive duo, but they could feature for the development squad in their Premier League Cup match against Cardiff City at Leyland on Monday.

Corry Evans has also stepped up his bid for full fitness after returning to training.

Hope Akpan and Elliott Bennett are still suspended, but Lucas Joao is available for selection after being inelegible last Sunday.

Fans are reminded that there are no sales at the Pirelli Stadium this Friday, so advanced purchase is required.

Tickets go off sale at Ewood at 2pm on Friday. With standing and seating available, prices are from £20 Adults, £18 Seniors, £15 17-22 year-olds and £7 for Under 17s.

Call the ticket office on 01254 372000 for further information.

Supporters travelling to the Pirelli Stadium by car from the south of Burton should note that there are long-term roadworks at the Branston Junction on the A38. Fans are advised to follow the northbound diversion route.
