A tough game but one to look forward to

Boss Owen Coyle believes Rovers can draw inspiration from recent results against the teams at the top of the table when they take on Sheffield Wednesday this evening.

After the weekend draw against Rotherham United, Rovers are back in south Yorkshire this Tuesday night when they take on promotion-chasing Owls.

And whilst the manager knows that it will be a tough ask against Carlos Carvalhal's side, the way they played against Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town shows they are more than capable of getting a positive result.

"The nature of the Championship is that it is a tough game whoever you play and Sheffield Wednesday are no different," said Coyle.

"They had a good result last Friday night and they'll obviously be in good spirits for it, but we've got to go there and make sure that we are at our maximum, because if we are then we've shown that we are capable of winning games on our travels.

"We did enough on Saturday to certainly win by a few goals so we've got to go and give a big performance and be ruthless in front of goal.

"There is no doubt that it is a tough game but it is one that we are looking forward to.

"These are the games that we like to play in, we want to go and show that we are a good team that can play against good teams and this game affords us that opportunity."

Tickets for the match against Sheffield Wednesday will go off sale at Ewood at 3.00pm this afternoon.

After that Rovers fans can pay cash only from the away turnstiles at Hillsborough.

Tickets are priced at: Adults £27, Seniors 65+ £17, Under 21’s £17, Under 17’s £15, Under 11’s £10, Under 5’s £5 (not available on the day).
