Rovers fan Andrew Thornhill took part in 2017 and told Football Aid about his experience after the game:

“Another memorable night at Ewood Park for all those taking part. These matches don't go well without the incredible hard work that is done by the Football Aid team.

"Yes, it was a great game of football and as Kevin [Gallacher] said, the away team deserved the win but it was also played in a great spirit from both sets of players.

"I know I have said many times how it is a great experience to play at Ewood Park but to play alongside ex-players makes it that more special.

"Both Kevin Gallacher and Chris Sulley were brilliant on the night with us all. I am very thankful to have played yet again.

"Having definitely called it a day last year, I am now planning on game number 10 on Ewood Park and hopefully Nathan (my son) will be with me as well as my brother next year.

"Thanks again to the team for your enthusiasm and hard work. It is very much appreciated. Live the Dream”.
