Rovers have an opportunity to break into League One's automatic promotion places when Rochdale make the short trip to Ewood Park on Boxing Day.

Here's our guide to the game...

Last time out, Rovers came from behind to pick up a point at Northampton, a result which brought an end to our six-game winning run in League One. Tony Mowbray's men currently sit third in the standings, just three points behind second-placed Shrewsbury with a superior goal difference. The Shrews are in action against league leaders Wigan on Boxing Day, meaning Blackburn could break into the top two with a win. The Blues have conceded just 20 goals in League One so far this season, scoring 40 times at the other end. Kick-off at Ewood is scheduled for 3pm on Tuesday, and fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with highlights available for iFollow subscribers after the game.

Corry Evans (ankle), Dominic Samuel (illness) and Charlie (Mulgrew) missed the draw at Northampton, and could be available for selection. Meanwhile, Elliott Bennett could return after serving a four-match ban. Harry Chapman remains sidelined, but Darragh Lenihan is nearing a return. As always, we'll bring you news of both starting line-ups via and our official social media accounts on matchday.

Rochdale are 23rd in the standings, two points and three places from safety, with 22 points from their 22 games so far in 2017-18. Tuesday's opponents are managed by Keith Hill, and drew 1-1 with Walsall last time out. Rochdale have scored 24 league goals this season, but have conceded 29, giving them a goal difference of minus five.
