Rovers manager Tony Mowbray was left frustrated by his side's 3-3 draw against Crewe, but says there are positives to take from the game.

The Blues went 3-0 up through Dominic Samuel (2) and Danny Graham before having Rekeem Harper and Elliott Bennett controversially sent off, prior to the visitors' fight-back.

Speaking after the game, the manager was pleased by his team's quick start but expressed his disappointment at the result.

“I’d have to go back a long way to find a game like today’s," he told reporters.

“I think the positives from it are how good we were for half an hour, goals were going in almost every time [we went forward].

“Let’s give Crewe some credit, they made changes after the red cards and managed to get on the front foot. They scored twice from set pieces, so it’s frustrating for me."

The sides will meet again at Crewe's Alexandra Stadium for a replay on Tuesday December 12th at 7:45pm.

“The frustration for us is that it’s another game, one we could have done without, but we’re still in the cup," Tony added.

“After half an hour, you might have been fearful for Crewe, but a replay is okay – we’re in the hat.

“Let’s see how the draw goes. When the replay comes around, if we get an opportunity to play a strong team, we’ll go there and hopefully find a performance to get through."

“We’ll fit it in, hopefully play a strong team at Crewe and get through."
