Rovers Ladies secured their place in the Lancashire FA Women’s Challenge Cup final courtesy of a comfortable 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers.
Saffron Jordan made it two hat-tricks in two games, while midfielder Natasha Fenton scored twice to ensure that Rovers would reach the county cup final for the 15th year in succession.
Rovers started the game well and took the lead after just three minutes when Jordan was brought down inside the box and Fenton stepped up to score from the spot.
Kayleigh McDonald, Meghan Taylor and Fenton would all go close, before Jordan latched onto Fenton’s header from a corner to double the hosts’ lead.
Shortly before the break, Jordan was at it again, firing home the rebound after her initial shot was saved.
The contest continued in the same manner after the interval, with two more goals coming in quick succession. Fenton added her second with a curler from the edge of box, before Jordan took advantage of a goalkeeping error to complete her hat-trick and make it five.
Rovers wasted further chances in the closing stages, whilst Bolton grabbed a late consolation when Sarah Agger was robbed of possession and Emma Pilling rounded Rovers keeper Jen Myler to score.
Gemma Donnelly’s side will now face Chorley or Fleetwood in the final, as they look to lift the trophy for the fourth year running.
