Saffron Jordan hit a hat-trick as Rovers Ladies defeated Loughborough Foxes 4-1 in the second round of the FA Women's Cup.

Rovers dominated the first half for long spells, but the Loughborough keeper kept the hosts at bay, making notable saves to deny Natasha Flint and Lynda Shepherd.

However, on the stroke of half-time, Rovers eventually made the breakthrough when Jordan slotted home Jess Holbrook's pass from close range.

After Holbrook had a goal ruled out for offside, Jordan then doubled Rovers' lead on 53 minutes after some fantastic work from Flint.

Rovers were enjoying plenty of possession and piled pressure on the Loughborough goal, which culminated in three attempts hitting the woodwork and several shots being cleared off the line.

Against the run of play, the visitors pulled a goal back through Charlotte Cooper, but Rovers restored their two-goal advantage on 78 minutes when Alex Taylor's drive deflected in off Kayleigh McDonald.

Jordan added some gloss to the scoreline late on when she completed her hat-trick, curling a strike into the top corner.

Rovers will now be at home to Portsmouth in the third round, with the tie scheduled to take place on Sunday January 7th 2018.

ROVERS: Hill, Jukes, Shepherd, Pearson, Holbrook (McCoy 61), Makin (A. Taylor 76), Fenton (M. Taylor 67), Jordan, Flint, McDonald, Cook. Subs not used: Myler.
