Confidence is high in the camp following four consecutive victories in League One and Paul Downing is keen for Rovers to keep the good times rolling when Crewe Alexandra visit Ewood Park on Sunday.

Downing's yet to suffer defeat since joining on loan this summer from MK Dons and is eager for that record to continue on Sunday.

Crewe have already surprised Rotherham United in this competition, and Paul admits the League Two shouldn't be under estimated - a dangerous game to play considering the 26-year-old is hopeful of going up against Premier League opponents.

"When you're on a winning run it's hard to stop and although we can take our eye off the league this weekend, we'll be going to win and progress in the FA Cup." Paul told iFollow.

"We want to get in the third round. That's when the big teams come in and obviously Crewe will be hoping to come and cause an upset again, just like they did in the last round.

"We'll be taking them seriously, we have to. We want to keep the confidence going, go out there and express ourselves.

"We have another day's rest more than usual, which is good. We want to take that momentum into Crewe and beyond, hopefully."

And Downing signed off his interview by praising the supporters who have followed Rovers' fortunes up and down the country in recent weeks, admitting the fans "spurs us on."

"The fans were fantastic again on Tuesday. It must be horrible for the opponents when the fans travel in the numbers. It motivates us and gives us the extra 10%. When we attack into the goal they're behind it really spurs us on and gives us that extra lift."
