Rovers are delighted to announce that boss Tony Mowbray and defender Charlie Mulgrew have won the Sky Bet Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards for November.
Mowbray oversaw a month which saw Rovers pick up four wins from four league games and turned the side into a deadly force, with Rovers picking up big wins against Bury, Oxford, Bristol Rovers and Blackpool.
Rovers did it in style too, winning all four games with a thrilling 13-5 goal differential.
George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel and said: “Tony has got Blackburn back on track and put them into contention for promotion. This month they won all four games and did it in some style.”
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “It’s a real testament to his ability as a manager that the results on the pitch are so good.
“A 100% record in a month comes as a result of hard work from the top down and Mowbray will be hoping for much more into the New Year and beyond.”
For Mulgrew, he was part of a mean defence but was also extremely potent at the other end, too. The Scottish skipper bagged a brace at Oxford prior to bagging at home to Bristol Rovers and then finishing the month with a thumping free kick at Blackpool.
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Blackburn’s captain fantastic has lead by example in November and his goals from centre-back helped Rovers to maximum points.
“His vast experience is proving invaluable for Tony Mowbray in steadying the ship and building a team capable of fighting for promotion this term.”
Well done to the boss and the skipper!
