Tony Mowbray was pleased to see his side put in an improved performance as they booked their place in the second round draw of the Carabao Cup.
After the disappointment of Saturday's opening day defeat at Southend, Rovers had no such troubles at the Ricoh Arena as goals from Corry Evans, Richie Smallwood and Dominic Samuel ensured a 3-1 away win over Coventry City.
The manager felt the display was much more in line of what he is looking for from his squad this season and felt their hard work got it's reward.
"I was looking for a reaction from Saturday," Mowbray told iFollow Rovers after the game.
"I thought we played well at times tonight, I thought we asked lots of questions of them, and we looked more like what we had been working on and what we had been trying to put together.
"I think it is important that the goals come from everywhere. I think we should have scored more goals, we had a few one on ones before they equalised.
"I thought the balance of the team was okay, they all worked really hard tonight and it is a good performance and the right result for us.
"We can all concentrate on Saturday now."
Rovers get their home campaign underway this Saturday when Doncaster Rovers are the visitors to Ewood Park.
