Rovers v Stoke City u21 team news

Tony Mowbray has named a squad of both youth and experience for tonight's opening Checkatrade Trophy group match against Stoke City.

Andy Fisher makes his senior debut in goal, with versatile defender Lewis Travis also gaining his first Rovers appearance.

Jack Doyle and Willem Tomlinson, who both played in the competition last season, start in a line-up that sees ten changes from the weekend win over MK Dons.

Derrick Williams, who grabbed the opening goal on Saturday, is the only player to keep his place. He captains the side.

Ryan Nyambe returns following injury, with Liam Feeney, Harry Chapman, Peter Whittingham, Ben Gladwin and Danny Graham all starting.

Charlie Adam is in the Stoke XI as an over-age player, whilst former Rovers Academy youngster Tre Pemberton starts for the Potters.
