Tony Mowbray doesn't envisage making a raft of changes to his squad for tomorrow night's Carabao Cup first round clash with Coventry City.
The Rovers manager will be without Bradley Dack and Darragh Lenihan who picked up knocks at the weekend, but there is better news on the injury front for Ben Gladwin and Craig Conway.
Conway has missed the last three weeks with a hamstring strain, whilst Gladwin was absent from the Southend match with a tight calf.
However both players trained this Monday and provided there is no reaction they could travel down to the midlands.
"Don't expect wholesale changes, don't expect half the Under-23s to be playing," said Mowbray.
"We will still put a pretty strong team out I'm sure. The Carabao Cup has to be respected but it will be a balance picking the team.
"Ben Gladwin trained today, as did Craig Conway, so we'll make those assessments, see how they react in the morning.
"If there are no problems then we'll see whether they come with us. They are two important players, they bring a good work ethic and attacking intention."
After the disappointment of Saturday, the Rovers boss is eager for his side to get their first win under their belts this campaign. But he knows it won't be easy against his former club Coventry City.
"We have to go there and try to be positive and try and get a victory to get our season kicked off," he added.
"It will be nice to go into the home game against Doncaster off the back of a win in midweek so that is the plan.
"We know they'll be looking forward to the challenge of Blackburn Rovers coming to town, we have to be right on the day and we'll see how we'll get on."
