Tony Mowbray believes his Rovers side will come up against one of the best teams in the divison when they take on Bradford City on Saturday.
The Bantams have shaken off the disappointment of last season's play-off final defeat with back-to-back league wins at the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
And with an impressive unbeaten home league record stretching back to March 2016, the Rovers boss is under no illusions of the task that lies ahead as they look for their first league points of the season.
"It will be very tough, we are up against a team that have won their first two league games," said Mowbray.
"They are a team that have been in the play-offs for the last few years. A team that will be at the top end of League One again this season I'm sure.
"I think it is a very intimidating place to go. I'm not sure whether the Rovers fans have been to Bradford for a while, but it is generally a pretty full stadium and reminiscent of their Premier League days with that big stand on one side.
"In the league they are unbeaten for a long time at home. So I'm expecting a really tough game.
"They'll come at us, be on the front foot and play forward. So we'll see whether we have enough quality to see them off and ask questions the other way.
"Most teams in this league are the same but Bradford is a difficult place to go. It is a big test for any team as others have found.
"If we can get a positive result it will be a great fillip for us to push on from that point with a home game coming and a big game midweek in the cup.
"So we'll see how it goes but I can't guarantee anything other than 100% hard work and effort. Lets see if we can get a result."
