Tony Mowbray hopes the forthcoming campaign is a successful one for the supporters.

As the 2017-18 season gets underway this afternoon with the trip to face Southend United, the Rovers boss admits there'll be times when the Ewood faithful will be needed for that extra effort to see the team through, but hopes that they see that the players will be doing everything to clinch promotion.

"Try and enjoy it, try and be supportive of your club.

"Recognise that we are going to lose games along the way but it is how we stick together and how we bounce back.

"I hope we can make it a season that they all can enjoy and that it is a memorable season.

"Forget about the division, just try and enjoy the football and the results, that would be my main message.

"We've talked to the team about pressure. I think when you are in a league where you are expected to win the result is everything. Yet there are going to be times when we don't and that is the time when we need the fans to stick with the team.

"Undertand that the bigger picture is that we have been winning generally but that we will lose the odd one along the way. So be supportive of the group and the players and know that they are giving everything they got to get the club back into the Championship."
