Wednesday night's derby day cup tie is a obviously a big event in its own right, but there are a number of additional pre-match activities planned around Ewood Park to add to the sense of occasion even further.

Ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off against Burnley, this is what's scheduled to take place around the ground…

  • 12pm Blues Bar opens.
The bar will be available for food and drink service throughout the entire build up to the match. Please secure your matchday membership now for entry.

  • 4pm Tickets go off sale.
Please purchase your seats from the Roverstore, ticket hotline or website before this point to avoid disappointment.

  • 5pm Strikers’ Lounge opens.
The family-friendly facility in the Blackburn End stand is accessed via the reception area and is free to all matchday ticket holders. Bar facilities available.

  • 5.30pm The Foster’s FanZone opens.
The stage opposite the Roverstore will be broadcasting news, views and music in the build-up to kick-off.

  • 6.15pm Rover The Dog arrives.
Fans looking for our cuddly mascot should be able to find him as he starts his patrol of the stadium from this time.

  • 6.20pm Penalty Shoot Out Challenge starts.
Subject to dry weather, our Community Trust staff will be offering you the chance to test your shooting skills with their inflatable goal, situated in the corner of the Jack Walker Stand and Blackburn End.
  • 6.30pm Concourses open.
Where possible, please aim to arrive early to ease congestion. Facilities in the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand, such as Rover's Kennel and The GAME Room open at this time.

  • 6.50pm Nicky McCallan on stage.
The Irish-born Rovers fan is a star performer who gets the whole crowd involved with his singalong mix of rock tunes and classics from his homeland. If you like what you hear in the FanZone - as most did when he first performed last season - give him a follow via @NickyMcCallan on Twitter for news of his forthcoming album release.

  • 7.10pm Read out the team sheets!
One lucky supporter will enjoy the chance to read out the team news for the huge game if they volunteer at the FanZone stage. If your child is under 16, bring them along to have a go!

  • 7.35pm Guard of honour.
If you’re in the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand and wearing your Rovers colours, you may get a chance to form the guard of honour down the touchline before the game! Be at the front of the stand from around 7.20pm when Community Trust staff will be starting to select the lucky children to take part.

  • 7.42pm The teams emerge!
The Rovers team will be accompanied by young players from our Community Trust’s Football Camp, who are acting as player escorts for the game.

  • 7.45pm Kick-off!
    The cup match gets underway…

Please be aware that the Roverstore will be closed after the game and that a number of other alterations to normal matchday practice will be in operation, due to the sensitive nature of the security operation in place for this particular fixture.
