Boss Tony Mowbray knows how important it is that the team claims another positive result to keep the confidence building.
The Rovers collected their first points of the season last Saturday, with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bradford City.
Now as they prepare to face Burnley at Ewood Park in this evening's Carabao Cup second round, the manager feels that the belief in the squad is growing, and that another encouraging performance and result can only help it get stronger.
"We have to try and keep being positive and build the confidence of the team," said Mowbray.
"It is a new team and they have to believe in each other. They have to believe that the squad is strong enough to win football matches as we go along.
"I think that the main thing for me is to try and keep the confidence going in the team after a hard-earned victory at Bradford. We need to try and build on that and make sure that it is another hard-earned victory hopefully on Wednesday night.
"We have to be wary of them, we have to be conscious of what their strengths and weaknesses are and just go and play the match.
"We will try and be as positive as we can, we will go and try and win. If we do then great, if we don't then lets not get too negative about it. Lets push on in the league and try and win some matches and get some points."
