Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is still eager to further strengthen his squad before tomorrow night's transfer deadline.
The Ewood head has been one of the busier managers this summer with nine new faces through the door, but he has hopes for a couple more arrivals before window closes.
Mowbray knows there are areas of the squad that need bolstering, and is keen to create further competition for places.
"I'm hoping to be busy over the next two days, hopefully we can get some business done," he admitted.
"Then after Thursday night that is what we've got to go into the campaign with until January.
"We are talking to a few clubs at the moment, we are trying really hard to add some players to the group.
"I've talked about how short we are on the numbers, if we can find one that will add an impact on the starting eleven then that would be great. If not, if we just try to beef up the squad knowing that we will pick up injuries and suspensions along the way, then we are working hard to make that happen as well.
"We want to create competition for all positions on the pitch so the back players don't feel as if they are automatic choices, the midfielders and strikers the same. So just to add competition in all areas hopefully."
