Rovers make four changes to the side that lost at Southend for tonight's Carabao Cup first round tie away to Coventry City.
Manager Tony Mowbray, who spent 18 months in charge at the Ricoh Arena, brings in Paul Caddis, Elliott Ward, Corry Evans and Liam Feeney to the starting line-up.
Darragh Lenihan (foot) and Bradley Dack (hamstring) miss out through injury, whilst Peter Whittingham and Danny Graham drop to the bench.
The changes mean a Rovers debut for summer signing Caddis, who is also making the 300th appearance of his club career, and an opportunity for Ward to impress against one of his former clubs.
The 32-year-old defender joined the Sky Blues from West Ham United 11 years ago and made 126 appearances during a four-year spell with the Midlands club.
Rovers are expected to play a 5-4-1 formation, with striker Dominic Samuel leading the attack against the side he enjoyed a successful loan spell with during the second half of the 2014-15 season, scoring six goals in 12 league starts.
Ben Gladwin makes the Rovers bench after recovering from a slight calf strain and he is joined in the 18 by youngsters Willem Tomlinson and Jack Doyle.
Coventry make six changes to the side that kicked off their League Two campaign with a 3-0 victory at home to Notts County, with hat-trick hero Jodi Jones remaining in the starting XI.
