Tony Mowbray hopes that the injuries sustained in last night's 1-0 win over Stoke City's Under-21s prove to be just minor.
Derrick Wiliams and then Ryan Nyambe limped out of the Checkatrade Trophy match having picked up knocks in the first half.
The boss hopes that quick action prevented the defensive pair from sustaining anything serious, and that they'll be fit for the return to league action in ten days time.
"We picked up a couple of knocks which is very disappointing," said Mowbray.
"We made ten changes and Derrick didn't even get to 45 minutes. So that shows the intensity that they've tried to play the games at over the last few games and that was maybe a step too far.
"Hopefully it is not anything too serious, just a niggle I hope.
"Ryan came off at half-time with a slight twist to his ankle, so we didn't want to take any chances with him."
