Elliott Bennett has stressed that Rovers can only control what happens in their own matches and shouldn't be distracted by how other teams get on.
With just six matches remaining this season, starting with Saturday's Ewood Park clash against Barnsley, the midfielder knows that they have to concentrate on getting their own results.
Back-to-back defeats against promotion-chasing Brighton and Reading has seen Rovers stay in the bottom three, but Bennett insists that it remains in their own hands to get out of the situation they find themselves in.
"We have got to concentrate on ourselves," said the 28-year-old. "Thankfully in this run in we've got to play a couple of teams that are also around us. So when they say it is in your hands it really is in our hands.
"We've got to play teams that are in a similar position for us and we'll be fighting tooth and nail to pick up points.
"We can't control what anyone does, you can't expect teams to win or lose. In the Championship things don't tend to run as smoothly as what people think they are going to, so we've just got to concentrate on our own game, starting on Saturday.
"It is a quick turnaround from Tuesday night and in the position we are in we can't dwell on last week because you can't affect what has gone by. We've got to fully focus on Saturday and look to win that game. Obviously it is disappointing when you lose any football match but we haven't got time to dwell on a bad result, we've got six games to go and the next focus is on Barnsley."
