Derrick Williams doesn't need to be told just how important Saturday's match against Aston Villa is for the club.

The Rovers defender insists the squad will be giving everything they've got to get the required result at Ewood Park.

"We've had a good week, we all know how big it is so in training we've been at it," Williams told Rovers Player.

"You can tell that everyone is ready to go and everyone is focused on the game.

"It is massive, the whole season really comes down to these next two games, so we are all looking forward to it and ready for the challenge.

"It is more of a cup final for us, in these games it is all about the result, so we just have to make sure that we win the game, do what we have to do.

"It is a bit frustrating that it is out of our hands, but we've just got to concentrate on ourselves, try and get these three points and then look at the table and see how the other teams around us have done and go again."

Williams will come up against one of his former clubs on Saturday when he lines up against Aston Villa.

The Irishman spent five years at Villa Park and has fond memories of his time there.

"I spent five years at Aston Villa, I moved there when I was 15," he added.

"It was good, I played with a few players who are still there now so it will be good to see them.

"They'll be very difficult, they're a massive club with a big squad and they've spent a lot of money. But it is one game at the end of the day and we have a lot more at stake than they do.

"So hopefully they just see it as an end of season game but for us it is a lot more. It is everything for us, we are just going to concentrate on ourselves and see how we go."
