Former Rovers striker Graham Fenton returned to Ewood Park, but was unable to guide his Monkseaton side to victory in the ESFA Under-18 Elite Schools and Colleges Cup final.
The North Tyneside school were defeated 2-1 by Hartpury College from West Gloucestershire in the national final, which was played on the hallowed turf here last week.
Fenton, who scored seven goals in 30 appearances for Rovers between 1995 and 1997, is currently a coach at Monkseaton High School, but goals from Kingsford Adjei and substitute Jordan Hodges secured the title for Hartpury for the third season in a row.
