Anthony Stokes will be part of the first team squad that travels to Nottingham ahead of the match at the City Ground on Friday.
The Irish forward has had a stop-start first season at Ewood Park since joining from Glasgow Celtic in the summer, but returned to action on Monday night for the development squad, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.
Boss Tony Mowbray watched the Premier League 2 match and was suitably impressed by the striker's display and he could now come into contention for a first team recall.
"I was delighted with him I have to say," Mowbray told Rovers PlayerHD. "He showed a real good application to the game.
"We know he is a very talented boy, and I thought it was good for him to get his boots on and go back out on the grass at Ewood.
"I thought he played really well on the night, I thought the team played really well on the night.
"He hasn't done much training with us, never mind playing games, so that is a positive. He is going to travel with us to Nottingham and lets see whether he gets any involvement."
Tickets for Friday's match at Nottingham are currently on open sale priced at £24 for Adults, £17 for Seniors, £12 for Under-18s and £6 for Under-12s.
