Tony Mowbray knows that there is only one result that will be satisfactory on Saturday and that is a victory.

Rovers go into their final home game of the 2016-17 season knowing that they have to defeat Aston Villa to keep their Championship survival hopes alive.

Mowbray's side find themselves two points behind Birmingham City with two games to go. With a further four teams still in the relegation shake-up. But the managers knows it is all about what they do at Ewood this Saturday.

"We have to try and win this game," said the Rovers boss. "We have to forget about what everybody else is doing.

"If we win it then it will definitely go to the last game of the season regardless of what Birmingham City or anybody else might do.

"So our only target is to be positive and to try and find a performance that gives us a chance to win the game.

"If we aren't to win it and results go our way then it will still go to the last game.

"So we'll be positive, we'll be on the front foot and hopefully have a big support trying to help the team get the result we require."
