Know The Score

7 April 2017

Rovers will this weekend be showing their support to the Know The Score campaign to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Barnsley, the players will be warming up in special ‘Know The Score’ t-shirts in support of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.

Backed by the Professional Footballers’ Association and League Managers Association, the concept sees players, managers and match officials the length and breadth of the country uniting to raise awareness of bowel cancer signs and symptoms, with research showing that early diagnosis is key to surviving the second biggest cause of cancer death in the UK.

Look out for the silver ‘Star of Hope’ badges that will be available pre-match in the Foster’s FanZone, the brainchild of former Charlton, Millwall and QPR keeper Nicky Johns, who lost his son Stephen to bowel cancer in 2008, aged just 26.

Visit knowthescore.org.uk to ensure that you’re aware of the condition and how to combat it.
