Tony Mowbray has a near fully-fit squad to select from for Saturday's clash with Aston Villa.

Connor Mahoney missed last week's draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers with a slight thigh injury, but having trained this Thursday if he reports no issues then he could come into contention for the match at Ewood Park.

That means just Corry Evans will be unavailable for the final home league game as the Northern Ireland international continues his rehabilitation from a troublesome groin injury.

"Connor trained today and there didn't seem to be any problems," reported the Rovers boss.

"So I think we're only Corry Evans down from a full squad to chose from so the signs are good in that respect."

Mowbray's squad has been beset by injuries in this past month, but last weekend he was pleased to welcome back Charlie Mulgrew, Darragh Lenihan and Danny Graham.

The boss admits they've missed the trio, so having them back has provided a timely boost ahead of the two huge remaining matches.

"We had lost three games out of 13 and Mulgrew was a massive loss," said Mowbray.

"He was stretchered off at Reading away, a game that was 0-0 at the time, and he missed the next one which we lost as well.

"He's back now and I think he is a very important player for us. He allows us to control the tempo of the game from the back.

"Lenihan is a fantastic young player with a great desire, he heads the ball and competes. And when you've got a defensive structure it helps give you a platform to go and win the game. So both of them coming back at the weekend was important.

"Danny Graham is now coming back as well. A player, I have to say, we've missed most of my time here as he hasn't been available.

"I watch him in training now he's back on the grass and he can score goals. He turns and he can bang it in with both feet.

"He got a runout the other day for half an hour and hopefully he'll be ready to start at the weekend and if Danny can do what he does and we can keep it tight at the back then hopefully there's a recipe to try and get three points."
