Rovers' development squad will be aiming to reach the end of season play-offs in a crunch match against Aston Villa at Ewood Park this evening.
In their final regular Premier League 2 game of the 2016/17 campaign, Damien Johnson's side know that if they can defeat tonight' opponents then they'll secure a place in the top five.
However the Villans are also in with a shout of reaching the play-off stage, sitting just two points behind Rovers.
The top three spots are confirmed with Swansea winning the league several weeks ago to clinch promotion, whilst Wolves and Newcastle are guaranteed home ties after securing second and third place respectively.
Rovers, Aston Villa and West Ham United are the three teams challenging for the two final spots, the Hammers are at West Bromwich Albion this evening.
Johnson is expected to name a similar squad to the one that defeated Fulham six days ago. Lewis Mansell, Joe Grayson and Willem Tomlinson getting the Rovers goals in a 3-2 win. Their fifth win in their last six league outings.
But it was a strong Aston Villa side who were victorious when the two teams met earlier this season, winning 4-0 at Walsall.
First half goals from Aaron Tshibola and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, were followed by late strikes from Hepburn-Murphy and Andre Green.
Season ticket holders can see tonight's match at Ewood Park for free on production of their season ticket cards. General admission prices are £3 Adults, £1 Concessions.
