Owen Coyle felt the Rovers fans really played their part in Saturday's victory over Rotherham United.
The manager was delighted with the backing his side received from start to finish at Ewood Park as Rovers came from behind to record a first win of a season in an entertaining six-goal thriller.
"I thought the atmosphere in the stadium was outstanding," the manager told Radio Rovers after the game.
"Even when we went 1-0 down the fans recognised how well we were playing and kept getting behind their team.
"I'd like to thank the fans personally, I'd said in the run up to the game how important it is when the Rovers fans are behind the players, and creating that atmosphere that they did today it makes an unbelievable difference.
"At 3-2 it was easy to think here we go, but they picked us up and we went up the other end and get a late goal to get that monkey off our back.
"The Blackburn Rovers fans here today must have enjoyed the performance level and obviously the most important thing in getting the three points meant they can enjoy their weekend and go home with a smile on their face."
