Rovers' development squad are back in action this Monday night when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Leyland.
Damien Johnson young side will be looking to get back to winning ways after narrowly going down 2-1 to Swansea last time out, but they come up against a Wolves side that sit three points and four places above them in the Premier League 2 Division Two table.
Tonight's opponents have enjoyed a successful start to the new season with three wins from their opening five games so it should be a good encounter under the lights at the Lancs FA.
Rovers had the better of the meetings between the sides last season by doing the double over Wolves.
Last October a brace from Lewis Mansell and a debut strike from Matty Platt saw Rovers come from behind at Molineux to win 3-2.
They then followed that up with a win at Leigh with another rally as Scott Wharton headed home a late winner after Luke Wall had equalised.
With the first team in action on Tuesday night at home to Sheffield Wednesday, Johnson is expected to name a youthful side. Connor Mahoney and Ryan Nyambe, who both recently enjoyed a first team outing in the EFL Cup, could feature.
Kick-off at the Lancs FA, Leyland is at 7.00pm. Rovers season ticket holders can see the game for free on production of their season ticket cards. General admission prices are £3 Adults and £1 for Concessions.
