Ella Toone was delighted to make an immediate impression on her Rovers return with six goals in last Sunday's FA Women's Premier League cup win over Rotherham United.
The former Centre of Excellence graduate joined Manchester City over the summer, but ahead of last weekend's cup tie she re-joined Rovers on loan, making a huge impact in the 19-0 victory.
"I'm really glad to be back, getting game time is the key thing so to get 90 minutes was great," said the England Under-17 international after Rotherham rout.
"All the girls worked really hard, we scored plenty of goals and despite us missing a few we kept on going. To get six goals in my first game back is really good."
Rovers ladies boss Gemma Donnelly was delighted to welcome Toone back for the season and after last weekend’s impressive return, she hopes the winger can play a huge part for the club this campaign.
"I'm excited to have Ella back at Rovers," said Donnelly. "She is a composed, tricky and versatile forward and I'm certain she will be a thorn in many opposition sides this season.
"She spent two years with the Rovers Centre of Excellence before signing with the ladies last season to support her development. Making an immediate impact to help propel her England hopes by securing a position in the recent World Cup qualifiers.”
Toone and the Rovers Ladies are back in action this Sunday when they face West Bromwich Albion at Bamber Bridge, kick-off 2pm.
