Saturday celebration typified team spirit

27 September 2016

Whilst Rovers' winning goal against Derby County rightly received the plaudits over the weekend, boss Owen Coyle was just as impressed with the reaction from the substitutes.

As Danny Graham wheeled away in delight after the terrific 25-pass move, subs Hope Akpan and Darragh Lenihan joined in the celebrations on the touchline.

Coyle believes it typified the spirit in the camp at the moment, something he was delighted to see.

"If you look back at the winning goal from Saturday, as much as it was a wonderful goal there was something that was actually better than that for me," said the manager.

"Hope Akpan and Darragh Lenihan are warming up at the side of the field and when Danny Graham puts it in the back of the net those two are going ballistic.

"For me that sums up team spirit, that is boys that want to be in the team. They are good enough to be in the eleven but at the moment they are on the bench. But they are playing their part in willing their team-mates on and that is a huge thing to have at any club."
