Danny Guthrie believes the spirit and character in the squad is there for all to see after Rovers came from behind to win for the second successive league match.

Rovers followed up their 4-2 home win over Rotherham, with an outstanding away performance to inflict a 2-1 defeat on Derby County at the iPro Stadium.

The midfielder was delighted to see Rovers claim the maximum points once more and hopes they can build on that in the two remaining games before the October international break.

"It is a massive win, we spoke about kicking on after getting monkey off our backs with that first win last week," Guthrie told Rovers PlayerHD.

"It was a difficult day but I felt that we fully deserved to win and it shows a bit of character from the lads.

"It is important to get back-to-back wins together in this league, you can shoot up a few places.

"We've been behind in both the Derby and the Rotherham games and we've come back quickly after conceding, so it shows another side to our game. To go behind was a blow, but the lads have got loads of character and we hit back quickly which was very important.

"We scored two great goals, the first one on the break and the second one had 20-odd passes in there, so it was very good goal.

"Then at the end we were solid and didn't really look like we were going to concede and we felt comfortable closing the game out.

"That is two wins on the bounce in the league and we need to push on now. We've got two more games before the international break and we'll be looking for maximum points in both."
