Illness no match for Marvin

26 September 2016

Owen Coyle has revealed that Marvin Emnes nearly didn't play in Saturday's win over Derby County.

For the on-loan striker was unwell in the early hours of the morning of the game and needed treatment from the club doctor.

Thankfully the Dutchman responded well to put in an outstanding display with a goal and an assist in the 2-1 victory.

"Marvin Emnes was ill at five in the morning on the day of the game, the doc had to go and see him," said the manager.

"Even in the warm-up he had to step out for the doc to give him some medicine to try and get his stomach in order to play the game. He then went out there and you would never have known.

"He's enjoying his football, he's got a smile on his face and he is bringing his quality to the team."

Emnes and Rovers are back in action this Tuesday night when Sheffield Wednesday are the visitors to Ewood Park.

Tickets for the match will be on open sale up until the 7.45pm kick-off. Prices start from just £22 for Adults, £14 for 18-21-year-olds and seniors aged 65 and over, whilst Juniors aged 17 and under can see the game from just £9.
