Kelsey Pearson and Ella Toone have been called up for national duty for the upcoming FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup in Jordan.
The pair were both involved with England's qualifying campaign after their third placed finish in the European Championships ensured qualification, and will now be part of John Griffiths's squad for the competition in the Middle East.
The tournament will take place between 30 September and 21 October with England having been drawn against Brazil, Nigeria and North Korea in the group stage.
Pearson and Toone are part of history as this is the first ever England Women’s Under-17s side to qualify for the World Cup. England did take part in 2008 but were invited to the tournament.
Toone has been in fine form for Rovers having scored eight goals in her opening two games, with Pearson providing an assist along the way.
