Boss Owen Coyle was delighted to secure the signing of striker Marvin Emnes as the summer transfer window closed on Wednesday night.
The former Dutch Under-21 international makes the move to Ewood Park from Swansea City on loan until January 2017.
The manager believes his arrival will increase the side's attacking options with Emnes able to play in a variety of forward positions.
"Marvin is a player that we have always been interested in and once we became aware that he could be available we moved quite quickly to try and secure that," said Coyle.
"He is proven at a very high level and has been very successful in the Championship and obviously played in Premier League so we think he is a very good addition to the squad.
"He's a different type of player, he can play anywhere across the front line, he's got pace, he can run with the ball, he takes players on. He's an exciting player and he has shown that he can score a goal and create a goal.
"So I think he gives us something different in the forward areas and gives us another attacking threat to go with young Samuelsen who came in last week."
Emnes and Rovers are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers. Prices are from £28 for Adults, £19 Seniors/18-21yrs, and from £13 for Under-18s. Book online today at www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers
