Gordon Greer believes Rovers should take the positive aspects of their play from the game against Sheffield Wednesday and build on them for today's match at Birmingham City.
After back-to-back wins over Rotherham and Derby, Rovers were unable to make it three in a row as they slipped to a narrow 1-0 loss to the Owls at Ewood on Tuesday.
But the experienced defender felt there was plenty that was right about Rovers' display against the much-fancied Wednesday and that they can go to St. Andrew's full of confidence of returning north with the points.
"We'll try and put it right against Birmingham on Saturday, there were a few positives to take from the midweek game so we'll build on them and push on," Greer told Rovers PlayerHD.
"I think if you spoke to the supporters that have seen us from the start of the season to now there's a massive difference.
"It has been up and down but I think now moving forward we are putting in better performances on the pitch and hopefully we can pick up a lot more positive results.
"We were unlucky the other night not to get something from the game so it just shows you that we are pushing in the right direction.
"There is definitely more to come, there are a lot of new players, we are still finding our feet. We have had a couple of decent results and a few bad ones as well but that is football for you. Saturday and Tuesday in the Championship there are no easy games.
"We can take positives from the other night, try and correct what went wrong and focus on Saturday.
"If we get a positive result against Birmingham then it will have meant that we've picked up nine points from the last twelve so that is good going.
"Obviously it isn't going to be easy but we are going there with a view to trying to win the game. We'll give it everything and hopefully we can get the right result."
