Owen Coyle has been delighted with the impact Marvin Emnes has made since joining Rovers.
The Dutchman has been an instant hit with fans and team-mates alike since arriving on a six-month loan deal from Swansea City at the end of the summer transfer window.
Emnes has already got three goals to his name in a Rovers shirt, but it is his all-round play and versatility that has earned the praise of his manager.
"He was terrific the other night and I felt he should have had a penalty as well in the first half," said Coyle.
"When he gets one on one you don't want to be the defender facing up to him as he is terrific running with the ball.
"The fans like him, he is exciting and he also works his socks off. When we are out of possession he drops back in so he can receive the ball to go again and that takes good levels of fitness and it takes hard work.
"I think he is really enjoying what he is doing and him and Gallagher link up well. It is a nice situation to have those quality of strikers."
Emnes and Rovers are back in action on Saturday when the travel to take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
