Keep the belief and the wins will come

Tommie Hoban believes that a run of results is just around the corner if Rovers can continue to put in positive displays.

The on-loan defender feels that the performances that the team have been putting should have merited more points on the board, but insists that if they maintain that belief then they will start to rise up the table.

Ahead of this afternoon's match against Ipswich Town, Hoban hopes Rovers can take advantage of playing at Ewood Park by kicking off the next phase of matches with all three points.

"We got the two back-to-back wins and there was a good feeling about the place and everybody was feeling more confident," Hoban told Rovers PlayerHD.

"We shouldn't have lost the Sheffield Wednesday game and then the Birmingham game was so tight, we did have confidence going into those games, so we've got to make sure that we don't let our heads drop after those two defeats and keep the belief.

"The way we played against Rotherham and Derby, if we keep playing like that we can get the wins, so we've got to remain confident, it is a long season, we are showing improvement so we've to keep the belief and the wins will come.

"We've a few home games coming up now, so if we can get two good results then suddenly everyone is happy again and looking in a much better place, so it is a big week and if we can get a good amount of points this week the table is so tight that I'm sure we'll be rising up it.

"It is still so early, we've just got to keep improving on the training pitch and the results will come."

As a defender one thing Hoban is keen for Rovers to secure is their first clean sheet of the season.

"That is definitely coming," he added. "The last few games we've conceded the odd goal which is less than the start of the season so it is getting less and less.

"So hopefully now we can turn those ones into a few zeros and build on that."
