Rovers' Ladies are back in action this Sunday when they make the journey to Newcastle for the second time in three weeks.

Gemma Donnelly's side were victorious when the two teams met in the league at the beginning of October, running out 1-0 winners thanks to Saffron Jordan's second half goal.

Rovers go into the match off the back of a ten-game unbeaten run, but the manager has demanded a better display tomorrow on Tyneside in the second round of the Women's Premier League Cup.

"I am hoping for a much improved performance against Newcastle second time round," said Donnelly. "Last time our performance was a little flat.

"So I am calling for my players to refocus and ensure that we continue to work towards the target of winning the League Cup."

Donnelly's squad is strengthened by the return of England duo Kelsey Pearson and Ella Toone, which gives a welcome boost of competition for places.

She added: "I want the players to compete for their place. It is important for us and for the players to take the opportunity when it comes.

"We are looking forward to another tough game. We are strong collectively, we have great strength in depth and we also welcome back Kelsey and Ella from international duty."

Sunday’s game is scheduled for a 2:30pm kick off. You can follow live updates on our twitter @RoversLadies. Match reaction and highlights can be found at our FaceBook page and on YouTube!
