Blackburn Rovers' second business networking event was the start of a fantastic evening that not even the wet and gloomy weather could dampen spirits.
With over 70 delegates returning to network in our Clayton & Douglas Lounge to meet likeminded business people.
This joint event with the Hive was opened by Ian Brown who said: “Tuesday's networking event was a great example of local business coming together and sharing knowledge to deliver the Hive ambition of creating growth through prosperity. The Hive are delighted to have a strong association with Blackburn Rovers in achieving this goal.”
The main speaker for the evening was Mark Bannister who heads up the training and learning department at Darwen based Crown Paints.
Taking inspiration from the sporting world, during his talk Mark explored how businesses can define what are the key elements that make that competitive difference in an organisation or business.
He highlighted that as decisions are driven by our values these create the chemistry for our emotions that stimulate our passion and motivation to take action that in turn delivers results.
Many of the delegates that attended the event continued their conversation by taking the corporate hospitality offering. All guests enjoyed the food served by our partners Northcote at the Rovers. They were joined by ex-Rovers player Howard Gayle who was there to promote his new book and was on hand to answer questions about his playing days.
Best of all, to top it off we were delighted that Blackburn Rovers finished the evening with a victory over Nottingham Forest.
The next event on the 13th December is now fully booked, but if you would like adding to our waiting list then please contact Michael Farrington firstname.lastname@example.org
