A young fan who was knocked out cold by a stray ball at Ewood Park said it was “well worth the pain” after she was treated to a VIP Day at Rovers’ Brockhall training base.

Beth Hoare, from Morecambe, was struck in the face during a shooting drill ahead of Rovers’ home game against Fulham and missed the first 20 minutes of the match after requiring medical treatment.

Beth, who is a season ticket holder in the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End with her dad Mark and brother Joe, was invited to spend the day with her heroes at Brockhall after the club learned of her ordeal.

Striker Danny Graham was on hand to meet Beth and her family at the Senior Training Centre, where they were given a behind-the-scenes tour, before getting the opportunity to watch the players train and then enjoy a bite to eat in the players’ canteen.

Beth, 16, said: “It was a really enjoyable day and made being knocked unconscious well worth it! All the players were very down to earth and approachable, and all the staff made us feel very welcome.”

Dad Mark added: “I want to say a massive thanks to the club for making two youngsters very happy – they didn't stop talking about their visit all the way home!”
