Rovers' development squad return to action against familiar opposition this evening in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.

Damien Johnson's side host Oldham Athletic in the second round of the competition at the County Ground in Leyland (kick-off 7pm).

The two sides met just seven days ago in the final group game of the Checkatrade Trophy, with the Latics picking up the bonus point on penalties following an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Anthony Stokes and Liam Feeney were both on target in the Ewood encounter - getting a run-out alongside the likes of Wes Brown, Elliott Bennett, David Raya and Stephen Hendrie - and Johnson may once again be able to call upon some experience for tonight's cup clash.

County champions in 2011, Rovers were knocked out at the quarter-final stage last season following a 1-0 defeat at home to Everton.
