With Rovers short on bodies due to a lengthy injury list, boss Owen Coyle is grateful for the flexibility of the players in his squad.
Charlie Mulgrew, Ben Marshall, Darragh Lenihan and Jason Lowe have all proved their versatility in recent weeks by playing in a host of different positions, much the the manager's approval.
"It is very important, because of the injuries we've had, we've had to adjust accordingly,"
"We brought in Charlie Mulgrew, he's been deployed at left back because of Derrick Williams' injury, then he's moved into centre back because of the injuries to Tommie Hoban and Gordon Greer. And we also know that Charlie can operate in the middle of the park.
"So his flexibility has helped us no end, Darragh Lenihan is the same, as is Ben Marshall who played three different positions last week because of the little knocks we picked up in the game.
"So we do have players that are flexible which can be important. Ideally we'd love to have that settled team in terms of a consistency of selection and continuity because that helps everybody.
"But we've not been afforded that luxury, so whilst we don't have that fit and healthy squad to do that with then we've got to mix and match and look to do the best with what we have."
